Body Treatments
Body treatments focus on improving skin quality, firmness and contour through collagen stimulation and targeted regenerative and energy-based treatments. The skin on the body undergoes many of the same ageing and structural changes as the face, but often at a faster rate due to weight fluctuations, pregnancy, surgery and natural collagen loss over time.
Treatment plans are tailored to the individual, with an emphasis on improving skin health, texture and strength rather than creating artificial or aggressive results.
Body treatments are personalised and may involve one or a combination of the following options, depending on the area being treated and the concerns being addressed:
- High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to tighten and lift lax skin by targeting deeper structural layers
- Radiofrequency microneedling to stimulate collagen and elastin, improve firmness and reduce crepiness
- Collagen stimulating injectable treatments, such as Radiesse or Profhilo, where appropriate for areas including the décolletage, hands or upper arms
- Skin quality treatments to improve hydration, texture and elasticity
- Targeted treatments to support scar remodelling and healing following surgery
- Medical-grade skincare to support skin health and enhance in-clinic treatment results
Treatments are often delivered as a course, as collagen stimulation is a gradual process that requires repeated activation to achieve meaningful and long-lasting improvements.
Body treatments can help improve a wide range of concerns, including:
- Skin laxity and loss of firmness
- Crepey or thinning skin
- Post-pregnancy skin changes
- Uneven skin texture or quality
- Localised areas of skin laxity
- Post-surgical scars – including C-section and other surgical scars
- Skin healing and remodelling following surgery
- Early signs of ageing affecting body skin
Commonly treated areas include:
- Abdomen
- Thighs
- Upper arms
- Décolletage
- Hands
- Areas of post-surgical scarring
- Other areas of skin laxity, assessed during consultation
Discomfort varies depending on the treatment used but is generally well tolerated. Topical anaesthetic is used where appropriate to maximise comfort.
Temporary redness, swelling or tenderness can occur and usually settles within a few days.
Treatment time depends on the area and combination of treatments selected. Appointments typically last between 30 and 60 minutes.
Some early improvements in skin texture or firmness may be noticed within a few weeks. However, most body treatments work by stimulating collagen, so results develop gradually & will take several weeks to become visible. The best results are seen several weeks after completion of a full course of treatment.
The longevity of results varies depending on the type of treatment used, the area treated, baseline skin quality and individual lifestyle factors such as weight stability, sun exposure and overall health.
Many body treatments work by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. Because collagen regeneration is a gradual biological process, results continue to improve for several months following treatment. Once new collagen is formed, it contributes to the skin’s overall collagen reserves, helping to strengthen and support the skin over time.
We naturally lose collagen each year, and this process can accelerate with age, hormonal changes and significant weight fluctuations. By actively stimulating collagen, body treatments encourage the skin to maintain higher collagen levels than it would have otherwise achieved. This supports the concept of collagen banking and helps slow the progression of skin laxity and texture changes.
For most patients, results can be long lasting when a full course of treatment is completed & last several months – usually in the region of 12-18 months. Maintenance treatments may be recommended at tailored intervals to maintain results, particularly in areas prone to laxity or following pregnancy or surgery.
