Anti Wrinkle Treatments
Over time, repeated movement of the facial muscles that attach to the skin causes permanent, deep creases to form in the skin. This leads to fine lines & wrinkles which people don’t tend to like as they feel that they can make them look older, sad or angry.
Anti-wrinkle injections to relax these muscles using Botulinum Toxin (commonly known as Botox) will reduce these lines and wrinkles, and can also refine and enhance your features. As well as reducing or eliminating the lines, in good hands, anti-wrinkle injections improve the quality and appearance of your skin to give an amazing glow and a remarkable rejuvenating effect that looks completely natural – what’s not to love!
All of Botox treatments are carried out using very fine needles, making them more comfortable and greatly lowering the risk of telltale bruising!
The most commonly treated areas are the frown line, forehead lines & crow’s feet, or for a chemical brow lift – using carefully placed muscle relaxing injections to relax the muscles that pull down on the eyebrows to help lift the brows and open up the eyes, creating a more youthful and energetic appearance.
Another popular use for Botox in clinic is to treat the masseter muscles in patients who clench/grind their teeth or who are looking for a facial slimming effect. Overactivity of the chewing muscles can give rise to pain & overdevelopment of these muscles can result in the appearance of a square jaw. Relaxing these muscles with Botox will soften and slim the face, and can often provide relief from bruxism and associated symptoms.
Other areas which can be treated also include bunny lines, gummy smile, peri-oral (smoker’s) lines, “dimpling” of chin & downturning of the mouth. Botulinum toxin can also be used in the treatment of hyperhydrosis – excessive underarm sweating.

How does Botulinum Toxin Work?
Botulinum Toxin blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles, so they can no longer move. Anti-wrinkle injections uses carefully administered Botulinum Toxin to ensure that these muscles can no longer move the skin as much, so they can no longer create that line or wrinkle in the skin. Botox is a great treatment to start early as it works better on lines visible on movement. It also improves more severe lines visible at rest, but these may not disappear straight away & should get progressively better with repeated treatments.
What Does Treatment Involve?
Treatment only takes a few minutes - most of the appointment time is used to carry out a thorough consultation prior to treatment. If you decide you'd like to go ahead with treatment, first your skin is disinfected, the areas of muscle activity are marked up & botulinum toxin is administered into the targets areas marked.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
Any downtime is minimal - there are very small bumps at the sites of the injection straight after treatment, but these disappear within 20-30mins.
The botulinum toxin then begins to take effect over the next few days and slowly continues to work until the final result can be seen at 2 weeks. I always offer my patients a 2 week review appointment, where I am happy to adjust the dose if I feel it is clinically necessary. If you are planning anti wrinkle treatments, please leave at least 1 month prior to any big events to allow time for the botulinum toxin to fully work & to allow for any necessary adjustments.
A minimum of 3 months between treatments is required.
Will I Look Frozen?
No. I always administer Botox to give a natural-looking, rejuvenating effect. The aim of my anti wrinkle treatments is to administer enough to reduce muscle activity & the wrinkles it causes, while still maintaining some movement for a natural, refreshed result. As well as reducing or eliminating the lines, in good hands, anti-wrinkle injections improve the quality and appearance of your skin to give an amazing glow and a remarkable rejuvenating effect that looks completely natural.
Before & Afters
Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that uses fillers that contain hyaluronic acid – a substance naturally present in the body – to add or restore volume to the lips as well as providing shape and definition. I aim to do this to enhance your lips, while still giving a natural result.

What Does Treatment Involve?
I always offer clients the option of dental injections or topical numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable. It's preferable to carry out treatment with the numbing cream to allow the lips still to move, but as a dentist, it is nice to be able to offer clients the option of getting treatment under dental injections.
What will my lips be like after treatment?
Lips can swell or bruise after trreatment, but this settles over the days following treatment to give a lovely natural result.
Will I have "duck lips" or "trout pout" following treatment?
Absolutely not! There will be a bit of swelling after treatment, but when this settles you will be left with a lovely natural-looking result.
Before & Afters
Dermal Filler Treatments
There are three main components that cause ageing in the face. As we age, the bone shrinks, the deep fat is lost and we lose collagen & elastin from our skin, meaning that not only do we lose structure & volume in our faces, resulting in less there being less support for our skin, but the skin becomes looser & more saggy. When we are younger we have a lovely “triangle of youth” – our skin in nice & firm & we have plenty of structure underneath to support it – but as it starts to become an “upside down triangle” and people start to complain about feeling that they have a droopy or sagging face. This is when people start complaining about starting to get jowls, deep nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines) and marionette lines (sad mouth lines).
Dermal fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, which occurs naturally within the body. These fillers can be used carefully and safely to restore this lost volume, so subtly lifting and reshaping the face. The skin itself also becomes hydrated giving you a beautifully fresh glow. The results are instance, with little downtime.
A lot of people worry about looking “overdone” or “fake” with fillers. My filler treatments are always conservative and natural-looking – I would never want you to look “overfilled”. Nobody should be able to tell you’ve had filler treatment, but instead you’ll look well rested & refreshed. The best injectable is undetectable!
There are several areas which can be treated & I always carry out a full face assessment & I’m always honest with my patients about what treatments they would benefit from. As a result, I don’t always treat the area of concern directly – sometimes to treat a specific area, we are better to address another area of the face – a very common example of this is treating the cheeks to improve the nasiolabial folds (nose to mouth lines).
Areas treated include:
Cheeks
Full, defined cheeks are a sign of youth and beauty. Cheek filler can restore volume lost as part of the ageing process, and add cheek definition to beautify. Adding or restoring volume to the cheeks can have the effect of a “mini facelift”, helping to restore the more youthful “heart-shaped” face and proportion and helping to give you that fresher look subtley, while also improving the appearance of nasiolabial folds and the undereye area which can be very ageing.
Non-surgical Rhinoplasty
This is an advanced aesthetics treatment to alter the shape of the nose with a small amount of carefully placed dermal filler instead of getting surgery. It is one of the fastest growing treatments in the aesthetics industry and a treatment that really excites me as you can really see the difference it makes to patients! The results show again the surprising contradiction that adding a small amount of filler can actually make the nose appear smaller! Various techniques are used to smooth nose humps and bumps, make a nose appear shorter, longer, narrower, straighter and even give that cute tip lift at the end of your nose that you never even realised that you wanted before! Please see separate section below for some of my before & after examples of this treatment.
Chin Filler
As we age the chin gets shorter and rotates upward, making the lower third of the face shorter & resulting in less support to the overlying skin. This can contribute to the appearance of jowls or saggy skin & also result in the development of marionette lines – sometimes making patients feeling they look sad or grumpy. Careful placement of filler will restore support in this area and can also reduce the appearance of jowls.
Jawline Filler
Lost definition along the jawline can be a very ageing feature. Fillers can be placed in and around this area to support sagging skin, improve the appearance of jowls and recontour the jawline, thus slimming the face.
Perioral Lines
This area is most commonly treated with dermal fillers to restore some of the hyaluronic acid that reduces in the skin with age. Treatment with filler in this area helps to restore lost volume and attract moisture to the area to smooth out these fine lines.
Marionette lines
Are the lines that run downwards from the corners of the mouth & commonly appear as people age as the face sags. These folds form as the skin sags down and forwards. They are best treated as part of a full face rejuvenation – often involving treating higher up the face & the mid-face first to repalce lost volume, supported and lift, however filler can be carefully placed here directly to soften any remaining lines
Nasiolabial folds
These deep folds form as the face drops down and forwards. They are often best treated indirectly by lifting the cheek with dermal fillers, however the fold itself can also be softened by treating carefully with filler.

What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid – a sugar molecule that exists naturally in our skin and other tissues and which depletes with age. Fillers come in varying forms with different properties for use in different parts of the face. They are injected under the skin to revolumise, stimulate collagen production & hydrate the skin from within, as the hyaluronic acid molecule holds many times its own weight in water.
How Soon Will I See Results from Filler?
Filler results are instant & continue to improve as they fully integrate with the tissues & settle over the 4 weeks following treatment.
How Long Do Fillers last?
This depends on the type of filler used, where it’s placed and many other factors such as individual metabolism, sun exposure etc. Depending on the filler used & the area treated, they last anywhere between 6-18 months (although can last longer), however many patients opt to have a maintenance treatments to maintain their results & prevent returning to square one.
Are There any side effects from filler treatment?
Risk of side effects depends on the area treated, and I will explain this to you in detail during your consultation. For example, lips are more prone to bruising and swelling than any other area of the face, although this can occur anywhere. Most filler side effects are usually well settled within a few days although can persist for longer.
More serious side effects include filler migration, an allergic reaction, immune response, infection and blood vessel occlusion. Fortunately these are extremely rare, and as a highly trained and experienced practitioner, I take many steps to further reduce these risks and keep you safe. One of the greatest benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers is that they can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which means the procedure may be reversed in the event of a complication.
Before & Afters
Profhilo®
Profhilo® – was winner of the “Injectable Product of the Year” at this year’s Aesthetics Awards! It is used most commonly in clinic to treat the face and/or neck.
Profhilo® is often termed the “injectable moisturiser”. Working to hydrate, tighten and firm the skin while stimulating collagen production, Profhilo® works by supporting your body’s own cells to produce more collagen and elastin in the skin which has the effect of reversing the signs of ageing at a cellular level, significantly improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and giving you firmer, more youthful skin.
Profhilo® is clinically proven to help with a wide range of ageing symptoms. Although both dermal fillers and Profhilo® both contain hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance in the body), once injected Profhilo® disperses evenly throughout the skin, so the effects are visible throughout the whole face or treatment area to give a much more even anti-ageing result. It acts as a hydrator rather than a traditional dermal filler, and is therefore fantastic for those with tired, dull and ageing skin, as it provides overall more plump and luminous skin and can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, abdomen, knees and hands.

What does treatment involve?
After a thorough consultation, treatment takes 10-15 minutes & involves a series of 10 injections at specific sites across the treatment area(s).
When will I see results?
A course of 2 treatments is needed, 4 weeks apart. Maintenance is either a single treatment at 3-4 months or repeating the course of 2 treatments again 6 monthly. Although you can start to see results before this, full results are seen 3-4 weeks after the second treatment.
Before & Afters
Tooth Whitening
The active ingredient in tooth whitening products used by dentists is hydrogen peroxide.
It is only legal in the UK for dental professionals to supply tooth whitening products which have hydrogen peroxide in it. Hydrogen peroxide is clinically proven to whiten teeth, so any products sold elsewhere – including those sold online or over the counter on the High Street – don’t contain this ingredient…
As they are not allowed to contain hydrogen peroxide, they try alternatives which can be very damaging for your teeth! At best you’ll be wasting your money and using a product which has no effect, or in some cases you’ll be applying chemicals that actually damage you teeth, some of which “seriously damage the hardness and strength of teeth”.
Hydrogen peroxide has a great safety profile having been used for over 50years. It works by clearing out any staining accumulated over the years in the dentinal tubules (microscopic tiny channels that run from the outside to the inside of the tooth) & causes the teeth to become darker over time. Clearing out the accumulated staining lightens the teeth to give you a brighter, whiter smile.
Tooth whitening only lightens the shade of teeth – it has no effect on fillings, crowns, veneers, or bridges, so sometimes these are required to be changed to match following whitening. Tooth whitening is subject to a dental examination to assess suitability for treatment- if any open cavities are present these will need attention prior to being able to be treated.
Both home tooth whitening systems are produced by the same company so there are many similarities between them. The Polalight system is the newer system with the LED mouthpiece & no need for impressions – it was introduced for an at home tooth whitening system that patients would enjoy and for being particularly good for patients who have quite light teeth already who are looking to whiten by 2-3 shades (the case for most patients) & without the the need for impressions. The Polanight system with the customised trays which fit more snugly around the teeth for better contact with the tooth surfaces is still considered to be the best form of tooth whitening for those with darker teeth or those more stubborn/resistant to whitening or for people who want to lighten their teeth by more than 2-3 shades.
See below for further details.

What is involved with tooth whitening?
Tooth whitening is subject to dental examination which I carry out at your consultation appointment to assess suitability for treatment. This is not the same as a proper dental examination and is just to check for any open cavities present and won’t detect early decay. If there were any cavities then these will need attention prior to being able to proceed with tooth whitening.
I cover the instructions for use and show you how to apply the gels. I then give you a pack away with you containing the tooth whitening gels, written instructions and samples of sensitive toothpaste.
There are specific tooth whitening instructions to be followed to achieve optimal results. If you’re a smoker and can avoid smoking for a period of whitening & 1-2 weeks afterwards & the same for avoiding specific foods and drinks with strong colourings e.g. tea, coffee, red wine, curries, berries, beetroot - again for the period of whitening & for 1-2 weeks afterwards as these may also affect the results of whitening.
If you opt for the Polalight system then no impressions are required & you are all organised & ready to start whitening. If you opt for the Polanight whitening system, impressions for the customised tooth whitening trays are required. I post the impressions to the dental lab, they make the trays and post back to me. When they arrive I then post them out to you and you’re good to go!

What is the difference between the whitening kits?
The Polalight system is the newer system with the LED mouthpiece & no need for impressions - it was introduced for an at home tooth whitening system that patients would enjoy and for being particularly good for patients who have quite light teeth already who are looking to whiten by 2-3 shades (the case for most patients) & without the the need for impressions. In summary they both use the same final product to lighten the teeth - hydrogen peroxide, but the differences are:
- Polalight kit uses hydrogen peroxide, whereas the Polanight kit has it in the form of the precursor - carbamide peroxide - which gets converted to hydrogen peroxide on exposure to oxygen, so it is a bit slower & needs to be in contact with the teeth for longer, so is recommended that the trays be worn through the night.
- Custom made trays are required for the used of Polanight, so impressions are required, these are sent off to the lab and when they are returned to my clinic I message you to let you know and either post them out to you or give them to you if you have another appointment booked after a review/other treatment.
- Polalight contains 4x3g syringes, compared with Polanight which contains 3x3g syringes.
The Polalight (hydrogen peroxide 6%) and Polanight (carbamide peroxide 16%) both use the highest concentrations available respectively in the UK, so will both give you good results, you stop when you get to a shade that you’re happy with and keep any left as spares for top ups for holidays, special occasions etc.
Will I get sensitivity with whitening?
Sometimes people get a bit of sensitivity with tooth whitening. This is due to the hydrogen peroxide cleaning out the dentinal tubules, thus opening up the connection between the outside of the tooth & the nerve on the inside. For the vast majority of patients this is mild & I cover instructions at your initial appointment to minimise sensitivity should it arise & give you samples of sensitive toothpaste to use.
Tooth Grinding/Masseter reduction
A simple, safe, painfree treatment with no downtime, Botulinum toxin injections are used to reduce the action of the masseter – one of the main chewing muscles. If this muscle is overactive it can cause teeth grinding and clenching which can result in jaw pain, facial pain, headaches and toothwear, but reducing the action of this muscle can eliminate/reduce these things.
This treatment can also be used as a cosmetic treatment. An overactive masseter can also be quite a bulky muscle. With Botulinum toxin injections, the muscle activity reduces within 2 weeks & the muscle reduces in size from 6-8 weeks after treatment.
Non- Surgical Rhinoplasty
This is an advanced aesthetics treatment to alter the shape of the nose with a small amount of carefully placed dermal filler instead of getting surgery. It is one of the fastest growing treatments in the aesthetics industry and a treatment that really excites me as you can really see the difference it makes to patients! Before & Afters
Microneedling
Microneedling is also known as Collagen Stimulating Treatment. It involves the use of tiny needles to create tiny punctures and create controlled injury to the skin and stimulate the natural production of your skin’s own collagen and elastin – resulting in “new” skin. The tiny needles also create hundreds of microchannels for the delivery of targeted serums and products which work to further enhance the effect and results of treatment.
Standard Microneedling is a great stand alone treatment, but Deluxe Microneedling – with the addition of a retinol peel and application of hyaluronic acid amplifies the results, as microneedling increases the penetration of any products applied to give a remarkable rejuvenating effect!
Microneedling has a remarkable rejuvenating effect – it works to reduce fine lines & wrinkles, improve skin texture, even skin tone, reduce pore size & treat acne scarring, hyperpigmentation & stretch marks.
Alumier® Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a chemical exfoliation treatment. Treatment involves the application of very carefully formulated concoctions of acid to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, causing the superficial layers of dead skin cells to peel off to reveal a smooth, more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen to increase the overall health of your skin.
Chemical peels are a great treatment if you’re wanting fresher, more rejuvenated skin or to target specific skin concern such as acne, hyperpigmentation, ageing, rosacea or dry/tight/sensitive skin.
A chemical peel can be used as a stand alone treatment, but they work even better in combination with Alumier medical grade home skincare as the exfoliation from the in-clinic peel increases the penetration and action of any home skincare you’re on and the results gained are about 50% in-clinic peels, 50% home skincare.
Having a good skincare regime & great quality skin also enhances & maintains the results of any injectable treatments as an even better result is visible in clients with good quality skin.
An Alumier post-procedure aftercare kit is included with every peel for use in the first few days following treatment.

Before & Afters
Viscoderm Hydrobooster®
Viscoderm Hydrobooster® is a very unique product which comes from the same stable as the famous Profhilo® and is very unique as it not only provides deep hydration, it has a stretching effect on wrinkles.
Often used in combination with wrinkle smoothing treatments, this is a great treatment for those very dynamic areas which are very hard to treat when the lines get deeper and are visible at rest. These areas can’t be treated with “conventional” hyaluronic acid fillers as these are used to restore lost volume and even fine filler would be visible if placed here. This product is perfect for stubborn crow’s feet, forehead lines and even the frown line in some cases.
Rather than being a conventional filler, this product needs to be placed in very small amounts using a micro droplet technique – and it uses a patented hydrostretch technology to fill out lines and wrinkle and improve skin quality over the following weeks with amazing effect.
Two treatments required per course, 8 weeks apart.
Alumier® MD Skincare
Medical grade Alumier MD home skincare products to promote a healthy, radiant complexion, or to address specific skin concerns e.g. acne, hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne scarring. Can be used on their own, or combined with professional in-clinic treatments to achieve even greater results.
Hyperhydrosis
Excessive sweating (also known as hyperhidrosis) can affect both men and women and can be an embarrassing problem which can really affect people’s confidence and self-esteem.
This can be treated with a series of small injections placed just under the surface of the skin to reduce the activity of the sweat glands in the treated area and usually cause an 80% reduction in underarm sweating. It is a simple and quick procedure with no downtime. The results from 1 treatment session can last up to 6 months.
Filler Dissolving
Hyalase is an enzyme that can be found naturally in human body. It causes the breakdown of the hyaluronic acid used in fillers, but hyalase can also be administered by injection to remove fillers that have been administered incorrectly or which have left lumps, bumps or have resulted in an asymmetrical or undesirable appearance.
